Wow, things have been crazy around here!
I don’t think I have even popped in long enough to tell you that we have decided to stay in this house and rehab it, have I? Our current situation resembles one of those HGTV shows in which the homeowners walk away with nothing if they sell right away, but with some time and an investment of a few thousand dollars, they are able to retrieve all of their investment and make a tidy profit with the sale. It seems like the smart choice for us. The only drawbacks are 1. We have to live in the home through the reno and 2. We don’t have the Property Brothers hustling to help us out. If you want to watch as we try to rise to the occasion without losing our minds, stay tuned!
In the last couple of weeks, we have hired a house painter, a contractor to replace our leach field, and a contractor to install new doors front and back and a new garage door and garage door opener. We ordered supplies for refinishing the interior staircase and our new stair runner should be here soon. We will be replacing the furnace and installing central air, and a new ventless gas fireplace will be going into the living room.
Upstate New York got a bit of a last minute burst of winter weather, so things won’t really get going for another couple of weeks as the snow disappears and things warm up again. In the meantime, I’ll share some ideas for the landscaping, interior upgrades and of course more recipes.
Woo, I’m so excited! Thanks for being here with me!
