My family has voted to have a quiet dinner at home this Easter. Tomorrow while the kids are in school I will add some Easter decorations to our spring decor. Today I’m working on a plan for Easter dinner.
We are going to have ham, a tradition for Easter in our family. For sides, I’m thinking loaded mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, my semi-homemade stuffing and gravy. I might add in broccoli salad or cole slaw for some extra crunch, color and flavor on our plates.
For dessert I will be making a berry trifle and a Tollhouse chocolate chip pie with vanilla ice cream. The trifle I have made many times, but the Tollhouse pie will be a first and I’m excited to see how it turns out.
I have some important stuff to attend to this week, including making appointments and checking into storage facilities. I also have to really focus on clearing belongings that we won’t need in our new house out of this one. The square footage is distributed much differently in the new house- hello, open floor plan!- and the kids will be sharing bedrooms in tradeoff for their own media/entertainment room. We will definitely be having a garage sale as I go through the house room by room.
It’s starting to hit me that we are only a few short months from leaving this home and starting our life in our forever home. It’s a crazy mix of emotions I’m feeling right now!
I’m hoping to pop back in tomorrow with some Easter decor, so check back when you can. See you soon!
