Painted and Stenciled Book Shelf

cropped

painted and stenciled book shelfEvery cozy space needs a book shelf.

I pulled this mirror out of my little girl’s closet and I almost sold it on the online garage sale site. At the last minute I decided not to list it, opting to put it to use in our living room instead. I chose to paint and stencil a bookshelf that my handy husband reworked from a hutch he had previously built for me. And the mirror had a new home.

IMG_0981I found an unfinished wood sign at Hobby Lobby quite a while ago and painted it with chalk paint. I painted the stand and finial with white spray paint and distressed it.

IMG_0985It’s almost time for us to move on to our forever home- I’m so excited I can barely stand it.

IMG_0989A sweet little coffee pot holds pens and pencils close by for all a scatter-brained momma’s lists and notes.

IMG_0993I cut some branches from a bush in the backyard for the vase. I don’t remember what it’s called, but for years I’ve thought of this bush as my “bride”. Something about those delicate white flowers says wedding to me.
