These cookies were one of my favorite things growing up, and I’m happy to say that the recipe is now one of my children’s favorites as well. Tradition is important, don’t you think? I like knowing that there is continuity over time, even in something as simple as a classic no bake cookie.
No bake cookies are a sugary sweet confection that will more than satisfy any candy cravings you might have, and they’re made from the simplest of ingredients. The perfect blend of chocolate, peanut butter and vanilla, you can make these up in a matter of minutes.
- 1 stick butter
- 2 c granulated sugar
- 3 Tbs cocoa
- 1/2 c milk
- 1/2 c peanut butter
- 3 c rolled oats
- 1 tsp vanilla
Mix butter, sugar and cocoa and milk in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for one minute, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add peanut butter and vanilla, mixing well. Quickly stir in oats. Drop by spoonfuls onto parchment paper, wax paper, or foil.
I strongly recommend that you hide some of these for yourself. They won’t last long. Enjoy!
