I freely admit there are NOT that many things I like about winter.
A cozy home is one thing I do love.
This pot roast recipe is a classic. A three to four pound roast, a package of Italian dressing mix, an envelope of brown gravy mix and a package of Hidden Valley ranch dip mix mixed with two cups of water is all you need to start a fabulous smelling, heavenly tasting plate of winter comfort food.
Let it cook on low for 6 to 8 hours and it will be fork-tender. Absolutely perfect. I thickened up the gravy by whisking in a few tablespoons of flour and dumped a cooked bag of wide noodles right in, gave it a stir and served it up with green beans.
My family loved the flavor of this roast, and I just know you will too. Enjoy a little bit of winter comfort!
