31 Days to a More Functional Home Day Five- Rethink Your Stuff

What I want: a designated table for crafting and scrapbooking in my office, so if I get called away in the middle of a project I can leave my supplies out and come back to it when I’m ready.

But there are a lot of other things I could buy for two hundred fifty dollars, so I’m going to go with what I have.

I’m not ready to show you exactly what that is, since I want to do an office “reveal” post at some point, but here’s a hint.

I sincerely enjoy the fact that it’s costing me six dollars for two cans of spray paint.

Repurposing what you have can create function in your home by not only giving you the pieces that you need, but also by clearing storage space. Win win. Oh, and did I mention that the $200+ craft desk is made of particle board? I feel pretty good about passing on that and re-imagining what I can do with our existing wood furniture.

See you tomorrow for Day Six of our 31 day series on creating a more functional home. I hope you’re enjoying it as much as I am!
