Sometimes in decorating, simple is all you need.
My dining room table is a busy place. We do lots more than just eat there. So an elaborate centerpiece that I can’t easily move out of the way just will not work for me.
When my husband first brought home pea gravel for another project. I wasn’t impressed. Straight out of the bag, it looks sandy and dull.
But once it’s washed up, there is such a variety of stones, colors, and textures that you can start to see some possibilities.
I just rinsed the stones in a strainer and laid them out in the sun to dry on some wax paper.
Pardon our naked boards….we’re in mid reno on the deck. It’s going to be a beauty.
A Walmart vase and a Dollar Tree candle are all you need to finish off this little arrangement. I made two of them.
Natural elements add a modern touch to room decor. That’s great all by itself, but what’s even better is the price. The stone for these vases came from a big bag that cost about three dollars at one of the big home improvement stores. That eases my conflict about spending money on decor while prepping for the start of a new life down south.
We have a little less than four weeks til our house is on the market. I’ll be honest, it’s a zoo around here and it’s hard to find any moments of contentment, but I’m hoping that popping in and out of here will help me remember what we do have to enjoy in this season of chaos. See you soon!
