Parmesan Italian Bread for Bread Machine

Hello there! How are you? I’m well….the sun is shining outside, I have no running around to do today, and my house smells like simmering spaghetti sauce and fresh baked Italian bread. This is my favorite kind of day!

I’ve made this recipe from Fitness with a Fork a few times. Using the bread machine makes it so easy to prepare.


  • 1 1/4 c water
  • 1 1/2 Tbs olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 c bread flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 c parmesan

I pour the water and oil directly into the break machine pan, then use a separate bowl to mix together the dry ingredients and the cheese.

Just dump the dry mixture carefully into the bread machine pan on top of the water and oil. Make a little dimple for the yeast, and add that too.


I use the french setting, medium crust, 1.5 pound loaf. It comes out great every time.
